Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are classified into three subtypes: monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides, based on the number of sugar units in the structure and how they are bonded. Carbohydrate science looks at the action of enzymes and related biochemistry (biosynthesis and molecular recognition).
