01/08/11 - LGC Standards launches major online source of reference materials

26,000 reference materials and one intuitive search engine

LGC Standards, one of the world’s leading suppliers of reference materials, has today launched what will become the most comprehensive online source of reference materials available.

With an initial offering of over 26,000 products from 65 global suppliers, more reference materials will soon be added to LGC Standards’ UK webshop (www.lgcstandards.com/shop), thereby providing customers with access to one of the largest single online resources of reference materials. The new webshop delivers an intuitive search engine to enable customers to locate products by name, code, analyte, chemical formula, matrix or Chemical Abstracts Service number.

The webshop also provides a resource centre (including product-specific posters, case studies, articles and flyers), up-to-date industry and company news. The website will be available in 17 languages, providing our customers across the world with status tracking of all active orders, delivery date confirmation and the promotion of new products

The webshop will offer access to the most popular of LGC Standards’ 100,000 products, including high purity solvents and chromatography products as well as our extensive range of analytical standards and reference materials.

To celebrate the launch of the webshop, we are offering free delivery for all UK orders* made during the month of August 2011.

The range of reference materials available from the webshop currently relate to:

 - Pharmaceutical standards & impurities·
 - Food and environment·
 - Clinical, forensics and sport
 - Phytochemicals
 - Industry and metals

Dr Peter Pack, Managing Director of LGC Standards, said: “Creating what will become the single largest online resource for accredited reference standards was challenging, but we have done it. We will of course continue to develop the website by adding more products and streamlining the ordering and delivery process to ensure we meet the needs of our customers.”
