LGC Standards stays in Bury and provides employment for specialist scientific staff

During a visit to the new LGC Standards offices and laboratory at Chamberhall Business Park, David Nuttall, MP for Bury North welcomed the prospect of new jobs being created. LGC Standards has relocated to brand new state-of-the-art facilities at the recently developed business park next to the new Great Manchester Police Divisional HQ building. LGC Standards is a  world leader in ensuring that our food is safe to eat and their services are used by household names around the globe. The move has already led to new staff being added to the 45 strong workforce and there is every likelihood that more specialist staff will be recruited in the months ahead.

David Nuttall commented: “Many people will be surprised to learn that right in the heart of Bury we have one of the world leaders in this highly specialised field of proficiency testing which ensures our food is safe to eat. I wish LGC Standards every success in their new building.”

Mr Nuttall was given a full tour of the new premises by Phil Smith, Head of Sales and Marketing at LGC Standards Proficiency Testing who said, "The move is an important step in the development of our business, providing growth opportunity and the ability to further improve the service we offer customers. To be able to do this, and remain in Bury, is a big benefit for us."
