LGC Standards adds ULTRA QuECh™ line to its standards portfolio24-02-2011 LGC Standards supplies new standards to support analysts using the QuEChERS method
LGC Standards introduces the new ULTRA QuECh™ range of standards from ULTRA Scientific, offering 23 catalogued standards formulated to meet the specifications detailed by QuEChERS EN 15662, AOAC 2007.1 and mini-multiresidue methods. QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged and Safe) is quickly becoming the chosen sample preparation technique for the analysis of multiple pesticide residues in high-moisture food samples. The launch of this latest product line - ULTRA QuECh - reinforces ULTRA Scientific’s and LGC Standards’ commitment to meet the needs of laboratories conducting environmental testing. The ULTRA QuECh standards offer time and cost-saving benefits, as laboratories no longer have to prepare their own standards - these standards are reliable, ready-to-use, and guaranteed to stated quality. ULTRA QuECh standards are available as either single or multiple analyte solutions, allowing the customer to choose from the most popular mixed analyte solutions or the flexibility to select individual standards. In addition to these 23 catalogued standards, LGC Standards offers an extensive range of over 450 catalogued pesticide standard solutions and over 1,000 pesticides for custom solutions from ULTRA Scientific, and can supply any custom standard need for QuEChERS analysis. QuEChERS is noted for its ease-of-use, reduction of solvent waste (only 10mL per sample) and recoveries consistent with more labour-intensive methods. The improved throughput results in considerable time and cost savings for personnel and equipment. John Points, Head of Residues at LGC said: “The required scope of multi-residue tests increases year-on-year. As QuEChERS has increased extraction throughput, the preparation of reference standards becomes a rate limiting step. The use of pre-mixed standards means that the advantages of QuEChERS can be fully realised." ULTRA QuECh is available in 1mL and 5mL amber glass ampoules, for more information please contact askus@lgcstandards.com - Ends - Notes to editors
